DEVIL IN ME

The culmination of my Character Animation Postgraduate at Central St Martins, DEVIL IN ME is a musical short based upon the painting ‘Saint Michael triumphs over the Devil’ (1440-1495) -produced as part of The National Gallery London’s Transcriptions scheme.

Written, directed & animated by Ali Assaf and composed by Phil Mountford- DEVIL IN ME puts the audience in the place of St Michael as he is attacked by the devil. A provocative, predatory creature, he addresses us directly…in song.

Big Red

Aimed at young children, BIG RED is a colourful musical short teaching the importance of friendship and inclusion. Directed by Ali Assaf and animated within a small team, the short features an original song by Phil Mountford.

Cat and Mouse

Supported and funded through the UK Film Council in 2006, CAT AND MOUSE is a subversive homage to animation’s most infamous duo.

Written, directed and animated by Ali Assaf, the short film features the renown voice talent of Marc Silk (Roary The Racing Car, Fifi and the Flowertots) and an original score by composer Phil Mountford.
